We love building glass fly rods - they have a special quality about them that our customers love. Fiberglass is experiencing a rebirth and we certainly see that when we talk to our customers and readers here.  There is something magical in the way the rods look and feel!

LemonGlass Series

 

Our new LemonGlass series of fly rods are built exclusively for us from unidirectional S-Glass and feature a medium to fast action.  The rods are finished in an exquisite translucent lemon yellow and are fitted with spigots between sections.

 

These rods are finished with beautiful reel seats from Lemke, Struble or REC and include a yellow agate stripping guide.  We hand turn the grips individually from the finest Portuguese Flor grade cork which we import from from a trusted supplier in Portugal.  All of our rods are finished with the Japanese silk thread.

Kabuto Fly Rods

 

Yasuyuki Kabuto makes some of the most recognisable fiberglass blanks. With a very limited hand production run these blanks are very hard to come by but build gorgeous works of art that you can fish with.

 

These are very sough after and, while we have a few blanks in stock, in many cases we will need to pre-order a blank for you.

Our one of a kind Close Quarter Battle Weapon, the Car'Poon comes in two variants, a 10wt 7'9 and a 12wt 8'3.  Pricing as as follows

Swift Fly Fishing, Epic Fy Rods

 

Swift Fly Fishing in New Zealand has a wonderful range of blanks that we use in our custom fly fishing rod builds.  These are the renown S-Glass Epic Fly Rod blanks.

Our custom Epic Fly Rods are tailored to meet your needs, whether that be a lighter weight Epic 376 fly rod, the acclaimed Epic 686 or the heavier duty Epic 888.  

​

We currently have:

A number of Epic, Kabuto and CTS blanks in stock in addtion to our LemonGlass and Car'Poon blanks. ​

All other configurations can be ordered and have a lead time of 6-12 weeks depending on availability of the Epic Fly Blanks at Swift Fly Fishing.
